Ghost Protein Powder versus Optimum Nutrition
Both Ghost Whey Protein Powder and the Gold Standard Whey Protein from Optimum Nutrition are popular brands of protein powder supplements that are marketed towards athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
Here are some key differences between the two:
Ingredients: Ghost Whey Protein powder is made from a blend of whey protein isolate, concentrate, and hydrolyzed whey protein, while Optimum Nutrition uses whey protein isolate and whey protein concentrate. Both brands use high-quality protein sources, but the types of protein and the ratios used may differ slightly.
Flavors: Both Ghost Whey Protein powder and Optimum Nutrition offer a wide variety of flavors to choose from, so it may come down to personal preference.
Nutrition: The nutrition profiles of the two brands may differ slightly, depending on the specific product and flavor. It’s important to compare the nutrition labels to determine which product is a better fit for your dietary needs and goals.
Price: Ghost Whey Protein powder is generally more expensive than Optimum Nutrition, although prices may vary depending on the specific product and retailer.
Ultimately, the choice between Ghost Whey Protein powder and Optimum Nutrition may come down to personal preference, dietary needs, and budget. It’s important to compare the ingredients, nutrition labels, and prices of both brands before making a decision.
Consumer Reviews on Amazon for GHOST Protein Powders
Best flavored protein shake out there
“Taste: Yeah, it tastes like chips ahoy cookies and milk. (Note: I make mine with milk, not sure what this would taste like with water…). If you like milk and cookies, you’re good to go here.
Texture: so it blends really easily with a spoon, but be aware that there are chunks of chips ahoy cookies and chocolate chips in it. These pieces will get in your mouth while drinking and you’ll have to chew them. I, personally, find this to be most delightful. It’s adds a nice crunch texture (it’s not like soggy wheat. Somehow, it retains it’s crunchiness). However, if you don’t want chunks of chocolate chips on the bottom of your glass, or pieces floating in your mouth, I’d recommend just blending this bad boy.
If you’re just sick of the vanilla and chocolate whey protein routine everyday give this a go and change it up.”
Love the taste but it gets thick if sitting for more than 15 minutes
“I love the taste of this protein powder. These are some of the least ‘protein powder’ tasting protein powder. I like to take my protein powder in oats and I like the consistency to be light so I add more milk. However I eat it slowly taking more than 15 minutes to finish it. I have noticed if this protein powder is sitting for more that that it will turn very thick. I don’t like thick consistency. This happens no matter how much milk I add.
The same thing happens if you make pancakes with it. The pancakes don’t cook properly because it gets so thick. This is not ideal who use this for baking. So now I just take it with lukewarm plain milk and drink it immediately. Other than that, I love the price, flavor and I get it from Amazon so no shipping fee. But I hope Ghost fixes this consistency issue.”
Best taste and texture
“So I have ADHD and also a very picky about textures with food and drink. My stimulant medication was not being as effective as it could be because I was not getting enough protein or fuel in body in the mornings. I needed something with minimal effort in the mornings or evenings and a protein powder was a great solution. My last experiences with shakes have been bearable but I never finish 100% due to chalky flavor and texture near the end of a drink regardless of how well mixed. I normally have to use milk too. A friend recommended this brand and I did some research. Chips ahoy was very popular but I was worried I would be put off with the bits in the drink. But I bit the bullet and got it. I add cold water and mix it up and let me tell you, this is one of the best tasting shakes I have ever tried and I actually found myself tapping the bottom of the bottle to get all the little chocolate chips left over. It blends perfectly and texture is smooth. I can’t wait to try with almond milk. If you’re picky eater like me give this shot. I don’t think you will be disappointed.”
My Favorite Protein
“I’ve been using different whey protein powders for almost 10 years now and have found Ghost to be one of my favorite brands. It never upsets my stomach and tastes great in a smoothie or mixed with oatmeal (I’m sure other was as well). One of the things this protein powder does, that I haven’t found with many, is blend smoothly with just water and ice. Many brands I’ve previously used stay a slushie mess without adding a banana. I’ve found the Cereal Milk flavor to be my favorite; its so good mixed with oatmeal. I’ve previously purchase the Oreo and regular Cereal Milk flavors before and have enjoyed them too. Definitely worth it!”
Great Flavor: Coffee Ice Cream
“I’m on a weightloss journey. Im trying to lose 350 llbs as im 700lbs. I use to body build years ago but i let myself go due to my ptsd. I’m picky with proteins. I use to stick with cellucor for the low carbs but the taste well grew old quick. However I love the flavors of Ghost protein. Peanut Butter Cereal Milk being my favorite. They are low in carbs and taste amazing. I’ve just about switched completely to Ghost products. Highly recommend.”
Post-Renovation Reliever
“Long story short: I randomly decided to move furniture around in my bedroom, and it took me four hours to finish. By then, I was sore upon using muscles I hadn’t used in a long time. I forgot I bought this and settled on having it to help my muscles. And after a few stretches, the soreness became milder. And it tastes fantastic, blended with ice and chocolate milk.”
