Getting started

Choose your bands: These versatile resistance bands are perfect for discreet exercises under your desk or on-the-go workouts. Choose a set with varying resistance levels to keep challenging yourself as you gain strength.

Master the basics: Proper form is crucial to prevent injury. Luckily, there are tons of free online tutorials and fitness apps that demonstrate resistance band exercises in detail, so you can learn the ropes quickly and safely.

Office exercises

Squats: Grab a resistance band and loop it under your feet. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold each end of the band in your hands. Now, pretend you’re sitting down in a chair. Keep your back straight and your core muscles tight as you squat down.

Overhead press: Grab a resistance band, loop it behind your back, and reach overhead to grab the ends with palms facing forward (even though they’re behind you). Press your arms up until your elbows are straight, then lower them back down. Now, keep the band behind your back with palms facing out, and curl your forearms up towards your shoulders for a bicep challenge with a different grip.

Rows: Take a seat and give your chest a workout! Loop a resistance band under your thighs while sitting in a chair. Grab the ends firmly in each hand and pull them inwards towards your chest, squeezing your shoulder blades together for a good contraction. Feel the burn? Slowly release the band back to the starting position and repeat for a set of chest presses on your chair.

Travel exercises

Lunges: Challenge your legs with a lunges-plus move! Take a big step forward with one leg and loop the resistance band under both your feet for an extra push. Keep your upper body tall and core engaged as you lower your back knee towards the ground (but don’t let it touch!). Push through your front heel to return to starting position, then repeat on the other leg for a complete lunge with added resistance.

Glute bridges: Lie on your back with your knees bent and loop a resistance band around your thighs. Now, lift your hips up off the ground, squeezing your glutes as hard as you can. Think of it like a glute bridge, but done discreetly on the floor. Lower your hips back down with control and repeat for a sneaky but super effective way to sculpt your glutes!

Plank with leg lifts: No need for a gym, your desk can be your new sculpting haven! Grab a resistance band and loop it around your ankles. Get into a high plank position, feeling strong and stable. Now, alternate lifting one leg up high behind you, keeping it comfortable but challenging. Feel the burn in your glutes and hamstrings as you lower your leg back down and repeat with the other side. This sneaky move will tone your lower body without ever leaving your desk.

Bonus tip: Pair your resistance band workouts with bodyweight exercises like push-ups, lunges, and planks for an even more challenging routine.

Remember

Listen to your body: Start with lighter bands and gradually increase resistance as you get stronger. Take rest days when needed.

Mind your surroundings: Be mindful of your workspace or hotel room when performing exercises.

Hydration is key: Stay hydrated before, during, and after your workout.

With a little creativity and these handy resistance bands, you can stay active and reach your fitness goals, no matter where life takes you.
