What You’ll Learn at a Glance: Healthy Eating, Simplified – for Busy Entrepreneurs and People with Active Lifestyles in General
What IS The Diet of Common Sense?
The Diet of Common Sense IS a common-sense approach for active people to stay healthy, improve energy and mental power! It’s the nutrition of entrepreneurs, busy professionals, and other active people who lack time but value their health and well-being.
The Diet of Common Sense should give you valuable information to help you manage your most important asset: your health. Together with managing your business, career, and other priorities in your life. You win on multiple roles, right from day 1. The Diet of Common Sense is practical and action-oriented. And right from the beginning you will look great and feel amazing!
So the Diet of Common Sense IS a lifestyle – this is very important, it’s an ongoing process, not a quick restrictive diet. But we’re also about quick wins. Right from the first days, you may feel benefits like better energy levels, more focus, being more productive, coping better with stress, strength, mental power.
The Diet of Common Sense IS simple and action-oriented, and it can fit even the busiest lives. Healthy eating, simplified.
What The Diet of Common Sense IS NOT?
Despite the name, The Diet of Common Sense is not a typical diet – no counting calories, weighing food or expecting big results like fast weight loss or overnight health transformation. Although you may experience some weight loss and you’ll definitely experience positive benefits right from the first days.
But since it is rather flexible and based on principles, it depends on YOU. If you only eat one fruit a day, don’t expect much in terms of results. Although it’s still better than zero veggies.
Food is to your body what fuel is to your car. You cannot perform like a Ferarri if you’re fueled with cheap gasoline, right? The quality of your food – your input – and proportion of healthy/unhealthy foods – determines your output: energy, focus, mental clarity, longevity, strength.
So view it as a lifestyle, as a process – because you may experience positive transformation even after 6-12 months if you’re used to eating unhealthy foods most of your time. So keep your expectations in check and view it as a process. The Western diets are depleted of nutrients to a large extent – for some people, for example, coffee is the single source of antioxidants! This is not right! We can do more for our health, right? But in order to be consistent, we need to keep it simple.
Also, what the Diet of Common Sense is not – it is not a miracle diet. There is actually no such thing! Diets that promise miracle results are scams, so approach them with caution.
Is the Diet of Common Sense Right for You?
• Do you struggle to understand the jungle of nutrition and still feel confused about its complexity?
• Are you tired of diets that only work short term, counting calories and nutrients, and other approaches that leave you hungry and frustrated?
• Are you an active person having to focus on many daily tasks and want a simple 5 principles model for improving your health, energy, and productivity?
• Do you want to reduce stress, avoid mood swings, and have better mental focus?
• Do you want to keep it as simple as 5 main principles to make the changes stick long term?
then Welcome to The Diet of Common Sense – healthy eating simplified for active lifestyles.
The Diet of Common Sense IS based on 5 key principles – the acronym for STARS:
S – Start Every Day with Breakfast – Think of breakfast as energy, as your fuel to start the day right. Breakfast = Fuel = Energy. It’s better to start your day eating even the same healthy breakfast every morning than to skip breakfast on a regular basis.
T – The 80-20 Principle Approach – Eat 80% real foods and make the other 20% the best of the rest. And when in doubt, eat the rainbow! This means a variety of colorful, diversified vegetables and fruits.
A – Adjust Portions Sizes – How to eat slowly and in smaller plates and refill if needed. Did you know you need 15 minutes for your brain to realize that you’ve eaten enough? So eat slowly and in smaller plates to prevent overeating.
R – Remember 5 Meals/Day – How to eat 3 balanced meals + 2 healthy snacks daily. They say eat like a king in the morning, like a prince in the afternoon, and like a beggar in the evening. This means breakfast and lunch can be more consistent, dinner should be lighter. Between the 3 main meals, add 2 healthy snacks for keeping your energy levels balanced. This will also prevent overeating.
S – Sip Water All Day – Drink 2-3 liters of liquids daily. We are 70% water, our brain is mostly water, so hydration is very important. Even mild dehydration can affect the way our brains work. There are people – like me – who find it difficult to drink 2 liters of liquids daily. In the course, I’ll give you some tips to make sure you drink enough water and you’ll also have fun in the process! Because, why not?!

In the last podcast episode, I was trying to make your stay at home safe and entertaining at the same time and challenged you with a DIY hand sanitizer recipe.
Using hand sanitizer, together with proper cleaning hygiene, helps prevent the spread of Coronavirus, and other viruses and bacteria in general. So what should you do when you run out of your hand sanitizer supply?
I challenged you to try this 5 minutes’ recipe. It’s easy and fun and you only need 3 ingredients. In case you haven’t tried it yet, here is the recipe:
• rubbing alcohol (99 percent alcohol volume)
• aloe vera gel
• a few drops (3-5) of essential oil(s) with antimicrobial properties, such as Tea Tree / Lavender / Peppermint / Eucalyptus / Frankincense / Thyme / Oregano (I recommend brands such as AromaTech or Rocky Mountains Oils)
• a glass bottle
Mix and shake well before use!
That’s all for this episode! Thank you for listening!
