I work out really hard so I can have my champagne and that part of life. I’d rather take longer to lose weight but have fun doing it.”, she told Women’s Health magazine.


Christian Bale lost 63 pounds for “The Machinist”, dropping to 122 pounds for the film. His diet consisted of vitamins, eating and apple and can of tuna a day, and running. He then gained nearly 100 pounds, getting back up to 220 pounds in about five months to play the Caped Crusader in “Batman Begins.”

Chris Pratt lost sixty pounds in six months (after starting at 295 pounds). What is his secret? He worked with a personal trainer and nutritionist, exercised, increased his calorie count, and drank a lot of water. “If you just cut the crap out of your diet, and if you spend an hour a day doing something physical that will make you sweat, six months will pass by, you will feel better mentally, physically, and spiritually.”


Alec Baldwin told USA Today that his diet was “sugar, sugar, sugar,” until he was diagnosed with pre-diabetis. He then decided to eliminate sugar and pasta, bread and refined carbohydrates from his meals and dropped 35 pounds. He also included exercises in his weight loss program: thanks to his wife, a fitness expert, Alec added an exercise program that included Pilates and spin classes.

Rapper Missy Elliott dropped 30 pounds and credits drinking water to her success. She cut off bread, juices and soda.

Jennifer Hudson dropped 80 pounds and has kept it off for eight years. What is her secret? Portion control and balance. She can eat (almost) anything, at long as she controls the portions sizes.

His workout regimen is intense and diverse: gym, yoga and Pilates, hiking and biking. “At the beginning of 2008, I made a commitment to my health and I have stuck to it. Nearly four years later and I am in the best shape of my life! I’ve lost more than 70 pounds and I’ve worked for it. I’ve done it the old-fashioned way, slow and steady, by eating healthily and exercising regularly. And I feel wonderful!, he told Shape magazine. Cooking ahead of time is another one of his health secrets. “I tell people to buy a healthy cookbook and make their meals twice a week ahead of time for the entire week. You can do it!”

The weight loss equation is the same: maintaining a calorie deficit that is achievable with eating less calories and exercising more. Ideally, weight loss should be healthy, by eating the right foods, and eventually it should become your lifestyle. When you need to lose more weight, simply start to exercise more.
